K-12 Art Email Phone: 715-985-3172 x124 Welcome to the ART ROOM My name is Julie Jeske and I am the k-12 Art Specialist in Independence. I LOVE my job! After all, I get the joy of designing lessons that not only teach students about the elements and principles of art, but also connects their learning to other subject areas. Elementary students love to create (and getting messy is also quite fun!) so I work to expose them to a variety of media to express themselves and encourage them to try things on their own. High school students work to become more and more proficient at the language of art through the use of specialized techniques and the development of their own "style." I invite you to stop by the art room or walk the hallways and see the students' work. We are building creative minds of the future, working on finding solutions to problems, developing skills that make them unique, and discovering an outlet to express emotions. They are getting exposed to history and the art that surrounds them on a daily basis; from the chair they are sitting in, to the product labels and video games they enjoy. When I'm not in the classroom, I prefer to be riding my horse Stuart, and enjoy competing him professionally in the summer months. I also work at my own artistic skills when I can, creating pastel portraits and charcoal drawings. Please "like" us on facebook: Independencek12art
