Independence Community Fitness Center
Adults may access the equipment 24 hours a day seven days per week by completing an application. Below are the guidelines for use as well as a link to the application.
Adult Access: Any adults wanting to use, supervise or volunteer in the facility, must complete a Community Fitness Center application (attached). They must be approved, pay the monthly, six month or twelve month member fee. Once completed and paid, approved members can pick up an access card from Patti Klimek, at school, during regular business hours. They will access the facility through the North/PE doors by use of the access card. Parents wanting to "supervise" their children outside of regular scheduled open lifting times will also be required to become a member, get an access card and agree to only supervise their child.
Student Access: Independence School District enrolled/current students can continue to lift during the times established by the Power Lifting club, 4-6:00PM on certain days, or other times established by the coaches. Coaches and power lifter coaches are required to be present and supervise students during these times or have approved Fitness Center members who are also District approved volunteers supervise during these times. Students are asked to enter and leave through the North/PE door.
Staff Access: Any staff members wanting to use the equipment or machines for personal use are asked to complete the community fitness center application. The district is asking staff to pay the nominal fee of $10 per month, $50 for six months or $100 per year.
Security: Anyone using the fitness center is asked to enter and leave through the North/PE door. The door in the weight room by the dumpster is to be only used as an emergency exit.
We hope that as many members of the community and staff can use and benefit from this great facility!
